What we collect
In short: we only collect the information we need to run SensoryShore, create your results, and reply to you.
-
Identity and contact details you give us, such as your name and email address.
-
Your questionnaire answers, your scores, and your report.
-
Any feedback you choose to give after the questionnaire.
-
CalmCompanion is an AI (artificial intelligence) companion: a computer program you write messages to, and it writes back. It is in development and not yet available, so we collect nothing through it.
-
Technical information such as your browser, your device, your IP address (a number that identifies your internet connection), and your cookie choices.
How we use it
In short: we use your information to run SensoryShore for you. We do not use it for advertising, or to build a marketing profile of you.
-
To create your results from NeuroProfile, the free questionnaire on this website, and your downloadable report.
-
If you tick the sharing box on the feedback page, we may study your answers, results, and feedback to improve the questionnaire. This can include your timings, your check-in answers (a check-in is a short question, asked three times during the questionnaire, about how you are feeling), and any questions you marked because they were confusing or uncomfortable, or because none of the answers fitted. It never includes your name or email address.
-
To keep the website secure and stop misuse.
-
To pause the questionnaire and show you where to get urgent help, if you answer at a check-in that you are distressed or need to stop.
-
To send emails you need about your account, such as a link to reset your password.
-
If you asked for the CalmCompanion email: to confirm your email address, and to send one email when CalmCompanion is ready.
Storage and access
In short: only a few people can see your information. Your account and your answers are stored on a server in London, in the UK.
-
Only the family who run SensoryShore look at your information, and only when they need to. For example, to run the website, answer your emails, or reply to something you have sent us.
-
We keep information used for different purposes apart, such as legal records, running the website, and the questionnaire itself.
-
Some other companies help us run the website, for example by hosting it. They may only use your information to do that job for us.
-
Your account and your answers are stored on a server in London, in the UK. Emails from SensoryShore are sent from the same server.
-
Encrypted backups (copies kept in case something goes wrong) are also kept in London.
-
We aim to handle your information in the way UK privacy law expects.
Retention and deletion
In short: we keep information only for as long as we need it to run SensoryShore for you, to meet legal duties, or to look into a safety concern.
-
We keep your account details while you still use your account, or would reasonably expect us to keep them. The same applies to your email address if you asked for the CalmCompanion email.
-
We may keep your answers, results, and report so you can see them again. We may also keep any corrections, and any emails you have sent us.
-
We may keep some records for longer if the law requires it, or to prevent fraud or look into a safety concern.
-
You can contact us to ask about deletion, correction, or access to your information.
Your choices and rights
In short: you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where appropriate. You can change your cookie choices on the cookie settings page.
-
You can request access to the personal data we hold about you.
-
You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
-
You can ask us to delete your information, unless the law, our terms of service, or a safety concern means we still need to keep it.
-
You can contact us at hey@sensoryshore.com for privacy-related requests.
